FAQ & contact
Most-asked questions.
If we don't answer it here, ask Lance directly below.
How long does it take?
+
About four weeks from when we receive the impressions. Holiday windows (mid-November on) book up first, so schools often place kit requests in September.
Is the material safe for kids?
+
Yes. The impression material is non-toxic and food-grade. Lance doesn't use any solvents or anything that has to be ventilated. (Specific certifications listed below the FAQ.)
What ages does this work for?
+
Generally range TBD. Infants are doable but require a parent to hold the hand against the tray. Once kids can press deliberately (around 14–18 months) the impressions get noticeably crisper.
What if the impression doesn't turn out?
+
We send another kit at no charge and don't cast anything from a marginal impression. Better to redo than to ship a piece you won't love.
What if the sculpture breaks?
+
Lance repairs any piece, free of charge, within the first year. After that we charge cost-plus on materials only, never labor.
Where does Lance ship?
+
geo TBD Currently shipping domestically within the United States. International on request.
Can I commission something custom?
+
Yes — siblings, group plaques, custom mounts, even pieces incorporating personal objects. Email Lance directly and he'll work with you on the design.
Do you take credit cards?
+
Yes, through Stripe Checkout. stub School-program parents will get a dedicated checkout link tied to the school code.
How big is each piece?
+
Standard sculptures are sized to the child's actual hand — typically 4 to 6 inches across. Mounted pieces are 8 to 10 inches across including the mount.
Why is this only one person?
+
Because once two people are doing it, it isn't this anymore. More on that.
